When the BBC decided to build a new state of the art media, radio & TV headquarters in the middle of Cardiff, all eyes were on the design features of this new building and in particular, its technology. At a cost of over £120m, it has taken nearly two years for the BBC to get the stage of having the infrastructure fitted. Subsequently, LMG has been awarded the supply and installation of the integral cabling network. The BBC originally invited over 60 companies to tender before LMG were selected. The £1.5m project will start in April and complete at the end of October. The design of the building is based on their current studios at Broadcasting House in London and all floors open on to a high atrium that is also open to the public to encourage a place for people to come and see the BBC in action.
