General:

• Leading and contributing to, allocated opportunities throughout the bid process and pre-construction phase.
• Leading, contributing and participating in producing high-quality and professional bid proposals to our clients.
• Take ownership of allocated enquires throughout the bid cycle from receipt of tender documentation to bid submission, project award and preconstruction design/costing.
• Effective communication and interaction with the sales, operations, project delivery, technology heads and procurement departments.
• Represent, attend and support client meetings, including site surveys, mid-bid, post tender, presentations, pre-construction design.
• Deliver both technical and commercial presentations.
• Create and manage supporting technical and commercial documentation and templates to support pre-sales and pre-construction activities.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal departments, manufacturers, suppliers and partners to maximise opportunities and our company profile.
• Deliver effective handovers to the project delivery team of secured opportunities adhering to company processes and guidelines.
• Support the Head of Pre-Sales & Pre-Construction in achieving the company-set objectives and delivery of our strategic plans.

Design and Costing:

• Prepare cost models and builds to support the defined scope of works or concepts demonstrating material, labour and professional services.
• Assume design responsibility for smart building solutions to meet relevant standards, codes of practice, client requirements and support the full suite of our smart building services.
• Leading, contributing and participating in producing quality, post award designs throughout the pre-construction phase meeting both project and client requirements.

Perso Specification:

Knowledge:

• The ability to design smart building solutions for multiple markets, including commercial real estate landlords, flexible space operators, data centres, residential and hospitality.
• Experience in the design and delivery of large multi-technology solutions and operational technology within a construction environment.
• Fully conversant with the design and estimation of smart building solutions, including but not limited to Master System Integrator services, IoT sensors, ICT Cabling, LAN/WiFi Networks, Electronic Security, Audio-visual.
• Awareness and understanding of smart building software.
• Understanding of risks in client tender documentation.
• Knowledge and awareness cross the breadth of our smart building technologies, including security, infrastructure cabling, audio visual, networking, MSI and IoT.
• Understands the principles of design and estimation.
• Understands pre-construction activities, processes and deliverables including technical submittals, drawing approval, Information Requests, change control, variations.
• Understands the need to maintain accurate documentation and the depth of information required for successful bid submission and operational delivery.
• Experience in designing and building smart building solutions incorporating enterprise and key manufacturers.
• Proven vendor liaison experience and product knowledge to ensure we derive maximum benefit from both their solutions.
• Experience and ability to produce, check and analyse .xlsx costing sheets for smart building projects.
• Proven track record in a pre-sales and pre-construction design environment in a similar industry and/or market sectors.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of bid analysis, financial breakdown and presentation of numbers

Skills:

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to communicate effectively with colleagues and key stakeholders in customer organisations.
• Good MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams etc.) and general ICT skills.
• Ability to design, estimate and develop both written and graphic representation of smart building solutions for various markets including, enterprise, data centre, residential, educational, hospitality.
• Commercial awareness, understanding of bid analysis, financial breakdown, and presentation of numbers.
• Ability to follow clear directions and work in accordance with agreed processes.
• Use literacy and numeracy skills to quantify requirements and timelines for tasks to be carried out.
• Ability to effectively work and coordinate with team members and responsible parties in relation to allocated opportunities and associated activities.
• Follow best technical practices to maintain quality standards whilst meeting agreed timescales.
