LMG is now ranked in the top 15% of companies assessed globally for key environmental, social, and ethical (ESG) criteria after securing a Silver Medal from leading sustainability ratings platform EcoVadis.
This is a major milestone for us and a positive affirmation of our long-term ESG strategy.
For those not familiar with EcoVadis, it’s a global platform used by over 100,000 companies – including the likes of PwC, NatWest and Barclays – that provides tangible evidence of compliance that ensures sustainability is truly embedded across our operations.
In terms of recognition, it tells the world we are committed to building a responsible, transparent business that delivers measurable impact and drives sustainable progress across everything we do.
What’s more, it reinforces our position as a forward-thinking, impact-driven company, one that puts ESG at the heart of our operations.
A global benchmark for responsible business
It’s worth noting that unlike other schemes that are backed by self-declared questionnaires or policy-based checklists, EcoVadis assessments are grounded in hard evidence. These cover everything from carbon impact and labour rights to procurement transparency and business ethics.
As such, it makes this recognition especially meaningful for our customers and partners, many of whom are under increasing pressure to demonstrate their own robust sustainability standards across supply chains. By meeting these standards, not only are we progressing our own ESG journey, we’re also helping our customers meet their own sustainability targets and compliance obligations.
Perhaps it’s worth pointing out that this isn’t our first venture with EcoVadis. We submitted our first assessment in 2022, and over the last couple of years, we’ve seen the vetting criteria become increasingly rigorous and aligned with global best practices.
That said, we’ve embraced the challenge that comes with raising the bar, a message that chimes with our own principles. Each year, we’ve used the feedback to guide meaningful improvements in our operations, policies and processes, which have realised improvements in key areas such as sustainable procurement, policy transparency and formal governance. All of these have progressed as a direct result of EcoVadis.
What it demonstrates to customers/partners
As you can probably tell, I am immensely proud of our achievements. But this recognition is way more than a simple accolade. It provides meaningful reassurance to our customers and partners that we are committed to delivering real impact, not just intentions.
I would like to say a big “thank you” to Matt Deang, our SHEQ Manager, who leads many of our ESG initiatives and who also compiled our EcoVadis submission. I’ve seen firsthand the year-round effort he puts into adapting our processes, educating the team and championing the purpose behind our sustainability work.
I also want to recognise the work done by the LMG team, who do not hesitate when it comes to supporting charitable initiatives, attending training sessions, contributing data for our impact assessments and learning more ESG-related acronyms than anyone ever expected.
And, of course, I also want to highlight the excellent work of our supply chain partners, whose alignment with our sustainability standards plays a vital role in our progress. We know there’s still work to do, but the support has been fantastic.
For me, this achievement reflects the lessons we’ve learned – and continue to learn – over the past three years. Most importantly, it’s a clear sign that we’re building a resilient, responsible business that’s fit for the future.
